Tho' keen the wind, and dark the night,
I'm not of wand'ring weary,
Thou HENRY wand'ring by her side
Art warmth and light to MARY.
But ah thou shun'st the piercing cold
And of the gloom art weary.
They can't for thee one charm assume,
Altho' thou rov'st with MARY!
Alas! thou dost not love like me!
But of reproaching weary,
I'll by my fading cheek alone,
Reveal the pangs of MARY.
Then go ingrate alone I'll rove,
Since thou'rt of wand'ring weary,
For hail! chill wind! and hail deep gloom!
Ye suit the Soul of MARY.
