Each poem scrolls on its own, so the two texts stay beside each other.

Deed

by Emily Dickinson

A Deed knocks first at Thought—
And then—at Will—
That is the manufacturing spot—
And Will at Home and well—

It then goes out an Act—
Or is entombed so still
That only to the ear of God
Its Doom—is audible—

A Chill

by Christina Rossetti

What can lambkins do
All the keen night through?
Nestle by their woolly mother,
The careful ewe.

What can nestlings do
In the nightly dew?
Sleep beneath their mother's wing
Till day breaks anew.

If in field or tree
There might only be
Such a warm soft sleeping-place
Found for me!
