Home row — On a QWERTY keyboard, this is the middle row of letter keys where your fingers rest between keystrokes: A S D F on the left and J K L ; on the right (UK and US layouts; the key after L may be ; or ' on your keyboard).
Home keys — The anchor keys on that row: one “home” spot for each finger. Lessons usually start with A S D F for the left hand and J K L ; for the right. F and J often have a small bump so you can find them by touch.
Finger placement — Left: little on A, ring on S, middle on D, index on F. Right: index on J, middle on K, ring on L, little on ;. Reach up or down for other keys, then come back to these anchors.
In this tutor — Beginner lessons build from the home row so your hands learn a steady starting position before longer words and poems. When instructions say to place your fingers on the home row, rest them here before you type; the animated hand guide assumes this position.
We will show courses for this level only. You can change it later in Settings — nothing is locked.
