The Bible of Kralice was produced by the Unity of the Brethren in the late 16th century and became the first complete Bible printed in Czech. Jan Blahoslav's New Testament translation of 1564 formed its base, and the project was printed at Kralice from 1579 onward. The work stood at the intersection of humanist scholarship, Protestant reform, and careful language planning. It gave Czech readers a prestigious literary Bible at a time when confessional conflict was reshaping Central Europe.

The Kralice Bible became a pillar of Czech literary language and a major source for later Czech prose and poetry. It shaped vocabulary, style, and orthography, and later Czech writers repeatedly treated it as a national literary treasure. Its influence extended beyond religion into the formation of a shared written Czech that poets could use with confidence and grandeur.
