Return to Haworth After School
Poet involved
What happened
After the traumatic experience at Cowan Bridge, Charlotte returned home to Haworth in 1825. Under her father's guidance, she continued her education and began to write more seriously. This period marked the beginning of her literary development, as she and her siblings created their own imaginary worlds.
Literary impact
This return to Haworth allowed Charlotte to cultivate her creativity and develop her unique voice. The imaginative worlds of Angria and Gondal that she created during this time would later inform the rich narratives and complex characters in her published works.
