Nichols returns to England from Hollywood

Poet involved

What happened

In 1926 Nichols returned from Hollywood to England and resumed writing in Britain. He would spend some fifteen years on a never-finished epic about Don Juan. London and later provincial England became the base for satire, prefaces, and selected poems.

Literary impact

Homecoming opened the long Don Juan labour that overshadowed his later career. Portions eventually appeared in the 1942 selection Such Was My Singing.
