Monro's last lifetime collection, The Earth for Sale, appeared in 1928, associated with the Poetry Bookshop world in London after individual pieces had already been seen in The Chapbook. Literary impact
The Earth for Sale turns the earth-mysticism of Real Property toward ecological and social dread. Late style here is plainer and more apocalyptic, preparing the grim sickroom poems that follow as health collapsed.
